It appears that Gotham is veering off-script.
In last night’s finale, Bruce Wayne appeared to find a secret room that was hidden away in his father’s study. In a recent interview with TVLine.com, the show’s executive producer John Stephens hinted that the child’s discovery will see the show move away from DC Comics and be an “original creation for the show.”
Showrunner Bruno Heller offered more details:
“What he’s discovered is a kind of a pathway to finding out about his parents. And it’s sort of an analogy for everyone growing up at that age and discovering their parents have flaws and have made mistakes. Sometimes they’re not the good people you thought they were; sometimes they’re better people than you thought they were. And that’s what down those stairs.”
