For many American Idol fans, this season’s competition was completely predictable as it was assumed that Clark Beckham would win from the first episode.
The Tennessee native boasts a smooth singing voice and is blessed with striking good looks. On a show where ‘guys with guitars’ are usually announced as the winner, it seemed like Beckham didn’t have to bend anything as the title was pretty much his to lose.
On Wednesday night, Beckham did just that as Nick Fradiani was named the winner. While we will never know why viewers shared a stronger connection with the champion, it’s clear that Fradiani’s comeback story and steady improvement as the show wore on seemed to compel the viewers whereas Beckham remained consistently good.
I caught up with Beckham immediately after he was announced as the winner and asked him what the best part of the Idol journey was.
