TO BE RELEASED ON DVD BY SHOUT! FACTORY
ON SEPTEMBER 15, 2015

Los Angeles, CA – Shout! Factory has announced a September 15 release of Sisters: Seasons One and Two in a 7-disc set. In demand by fans for years, this is the first time the beloved show has been released on DVD, and the set includes a new 3-part interview with the show’s creators. The set is now available for pre-order on ShoutFactory.com.

Sometimes controversial, sometimes whimsical, always compelling, Sisters follows the trials and triumphs of the four Reed sisters— Alex (Swoosie Kurtz), Teddy (Sela Ward), Georgie (Patricia Kalember) and Frankie (Julianne Phillips) —as they contend with the challenges within their very different lives. Praised for its frank discussion of many highly charged issues that continue to resonate even today, Sisters was considered by many to be a game changer in how television explored the lives of women and family.

From Cowlip Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, Sisters was created by Ron Cowen & Daniel Lipman, the developers of Queer As Folk, and ran from 1991–1996. Throughout the life of the series, stars such as Ashley Judd, Paul Rudd and George Clooney also appeared. With all twenty-nine episodes from the critically acclaimed first and second seasons, Sisters: Seasons One and Two represents some of the best and most influential television drama of its time.

The first drama on network primetime to focus explicitly on women’s lives, this heartwarming, groundbreaking show was never boring. Storylines in the first 2 seasons included alcoholism, extramarital affairs, divorce, childhood illness, cancer, infertility and a wedding broken up by a shotgun.

The men in your life may leave you, children grow up, parents’ pass away. The only ones who are there for you, from cradle to grave, are your sisters….
