As has been rumored, Jose Aldo’s rib injury has impacted his ability to train, and thus he has been taken out of UFC 189.
Dana White announced tonight on ESPN’s Sportscenter that Aldo, UFC Featherweight Champion, is out of UFC 189 on July 11 due to the rib injury.
Instead, #1 contender Conor McGregor will fight Chad Mendes for the interim UFC Featherweight Championship in the main event of UFC 189 on July 11, 2015
