Recent reports claimed WWE was planning to push Eva Marie and even put the NXT Woman’s Champion belt on her in the near future. According to The Wrestling Observer, those plans have now changed. The Observer reports that the call has been made to slow down on Eva Marie’s push and to focus on building Dana Brooke and Asuka for Bayley to feud with after Takeover:Respect.
According to insiders, WWE is hoping Bayley vs Asuka can continue the string of great NXT woman’s title matches. They also hope other female performers (Eva Marie, Dana Brooke and Alexa Bliss) can meanwhile improve to the point they can also have strong title matches.
