Tuesday Raw Roundtable: Kevin Owens, Paul Heyman, Shield Teams Together, New Day

WWE had another new Raw on Monday, what did the Pulse Wrestling crew think of the show?

On one hand, it was great to see a bunch of legends. On the other hand, with the majority of WWE legends, if they have the mic for more than a minute, they have clearly overstayed their welcome. I think that “RAW” would have benefited from one or two legends cameos per week rather than everyone coming out at once. Also, there are plenty of legends that could be utilized a lot more for backstage segments. The Brooklyn Brawler would get a strong reaction.

Related to all of that, I didn’t appreciate Shawn Michaels’ segment so much as he spent more time putting himself over than Seth Rollins. The legends deserve respect, sure, but they need to be putting over the future of business. Of course, everyone knows that Rollins-related booking has been awful for a long time, and Rollins deserves much better.

There were so many six-man tags tonight that I thought we were watching “Smackdown.” Three of those matches in addition to one Divas tag team match with valets that looked like one.

Mark Henry being booked as a jobber still makes no sense to me. If someone was a world champion and a main event talent, then it doesn’t make sense for them to appear weak. Jack Swagger isn’t on TV at all, by comparison.

While it was disappointing to see Mark Henry used in an enhancement role, Kevin Owens is doing great.

Also on the disappointing end was them reuniting The Shield for such an unimportant event like a “Raw” main event. Tonight’s main event could have headlined a major pay-per-view.

And speaking of the main event, the return of Erick Rowan was extremely anti-climactic.

Damien Mizdow, we still miss you, buddy.

so has Stone Cold been taking crap for the last couple of weeks or did Vince open his wallet to change Austin’s mind? Either way the Texas crowd are happy to see the Rattlesnake, and he got to pimp his podcast, so everybody wins. Right?

For all the nostalgic star power, this wasn’t really a great Raw in terms of actual wrestling, although I’m vaguely interested to see what happens at Hell in a Cell.
