Whats going on guys, back again with another Friday edition of WHY YOU SHOULD BE READING…

fist1

For this weeks installment I allowed the man in me to take the helm, showing how easy it is to be lured into to things by the male senses I possess. As I glided through the aisles of my local shop, my eyes shot to a curvaceous bum sitting on the shelf in all its glory. Surrounded by zombies and a western setting, a seemingly out of place attractive women packing some series punch, not only with her figure but with her weapons of choice, snatched my attention like a jealous sibling starving for attention. My curiosity instantly shot through the roof, I mean how can this be and where did this come from? As my questions populated I continued to try to understand what I was seeing, all the while admiring the cover which stared back at me. I will let you guys in on a little secrete, I’m a sucker for curvy women in all fashions (even animated, HA) and couldn’t walk away with out taking gander. Some women have more curves than others, but there is nothing better than a women with a great figure, this is just fact (in my opinion) not sure I claim something is fact, then say it’s my opinion, but I’m doing it anyway, the situation calls for it. Now with zombies, vampires, and a western setting apart of the mix, I couldn’t help but feel if I didn’t leave with this comic, I would be severely disappointed with myself, so I made sure it made it safely into my basket and on ward to my dwellings. Now with that I bring you WHY YOU SHOULD BE READING…

Fistful Of Blood…

fist3Yea I know kind of an out there intro, bu bare with me, we got some good reading material here. Yes the protagonist has a very captivating appearance for the setting she’s been placed in, but the story is just as interesting as the visuals. We first find our nameless female as she emerges out of no where in the hot dessert helpless and unconscious. It does’t take long for the vultures to circle, and when I say vultures I mean man, and they quickly plot to take advantage of the beautiful damsel…. In a vicarious situation our main hero (assumedly) reveals herself as not so helpless after all, taking down the foes that mean to do her harm. These foes however, are not ordinary and seem to be zombified of sorts, and it doesn’t take her long to realize that to make an impact you gotta aim for the skull. As we continue on the story starts to take shape (some what) and we find out that we are in a town that was once a mainstay for hollywood and tourist, but after the western genera began to take a back seat, the town was abandoned by the mainstream, leaving behind dastardly clans for zombies, vampires, and thieves, working to keep the town under their whim.

The story gets pretty straight forward from here providing a simple but really fun read! I know I stressed the women in the beginning, but there really is more to this comic than just a pretty cover, as my grandmother told me its the inside that counts, and they sure delivered that nicely. The pencil work is just phenomenal to say the least, and it really sets this book apart. Obviously set in an old western town, the grit of the pencil art goes hand in hand providing such a real feel for the book and its story. I mean what more could one ask for, zombies, a western, and a provocative female lead, do yourself a favor and pick up a copy for yourself and friend and you will not be disappointed. Also to note for those who are interested, this plans to be a 4 part series, and if successful I bet there will be more….

Well everyone, keep reading, and keep on keepin on, we will chat next week!

WHY YOU SHOULD BE READING…

– Grainbelt

Mr. Jones has been a life long nerd, he started collecting vinyl, action figures, and comic books at a very young age. As he grew older his passions evolved into Djing, producing music, writing and traveling. He caught the wrestling bug in 95 after going to the first WCW episode on TNT, at the mall of America, and has been hooked ever since. A new collecting habit of wrestling tapes was born that night where he learned the history of wrestling as well as taping the present weeks during the Monday night wars. Through that process he became a lifer and the habit is not easily broken, and shows today in his mid 20's. His passion for art shows through his music and his obsession with comic books, which has also transformed into a hefty collection. You can expect good articles and reviews on, wrestling, comics, games and figures and anything else Mr. Jones may decide to tackle! Hope you enjoy! Thanks!!
