Welcome to What To Look Forward To!
New This Week
Batman ’66 Meets The Man from U.N.C.L.E. #1 – Though the main series has recently ended, the original writer from the series launches the ‘66 mini-spinoff to meet up with U.N.C.L.E.! The previous series was very good, and I really enjoyed The Man from U.N.C.L.E. movie from this year. While the series will probably be based more on the respective TV shows, it should still be a lot of fun.
Gotham by Midnight #12 – The final issue! I wish this series is wasn’t ending, but it’s had a good run and hopefully it will go out on a high note. For more series with a similar feel, check out Gotham Central and Justice League Dark, as well as many series by artist Ben Templesmith such as 30 Days of Night and Criminal Macabre.
Saga #32 – Again, because it’s Saga.
Patsy Walker, a.k.a. Hellcat #1 – Marvel has had a lot of success with their recent solo-series, and Patsy Walker is next on the list. I don’t actually know much about her, but with Kate Leth at the helm, I’m on board.
Other issues to looking forward to: Batman and Robin Eternal #12, Dark Knight III: The Master Race #2, Darth Vader #14, Island #5, Jupiter’s Circle Vol. 2 #2, Justice League of America #6, Pretty Deadly #7, Robin: Son of Batman #7, Wild’s End: The Enemy Within #4
Collected Editions
Adventure Time: Marceline Goes Adrift TPB (new this week)
Adventure Time: Seeing Red TPB – If you you’re looking for more Marceline, look no further than Kate Leth’s Seeing Red. Find out more about Marc’s dad and what happened to her bass this time?!
Batman: The Long Halloween – Just in time for the holidays! Though Halloween is in the title, this series contains chapters for several major holidays of the year, including Christmas and New Years. These chapters are exceptional in the story, and Tim Sale draws some of the more beautiful winter scenes I’ve seen.
Deep State Vol. 2 (new this week)
Dead Body Road TPB
Kaptara Vol. 1 Fear Not Tiny Alien (new this week) – Chip Zdarsky and Kagan McLeod’s new self-proclaimed “Saga, but gayer” series, Kaptara is as funny as it is visually-beautiful.
Sex Criminals Vol. 1
