On January 22 2016, I had the chance to interview So You Think You Can Dance‘s Jim Nowakowski and Yorelis Apolinario just before their live tour stop at the Sony Centre For The Performing Arts in Toronto, Ontario.
In our interview, we discussed what life on the tour has been like and Yorelis admitted that it was her first time being in Canada. Jim talked about dancing with Yorelis and being choreographed by Sonya Tayeh. Yorelis also confessed that the routine was her favourite both on the show and on the tour and that it represented that entire philosophy of the show as it showed that a hip hop dancer could partner effectively with a ballet dancer to learn a jazz routine. Jim opened up about his routine with Alex Wong and how special it was for him. I asked Yorelis to outline how involved coaches tWitch and Travis Wall were in the season and she also discussed how nice it was to learn from the stage dancers and vice-versa.
