Daniel Bryan has announced on Twitter that he is retiring due to medical reasons.

Here is his tweet.

Original story:

Daniel Bryan is heavily rumored to be making his WWE TV return on Monday Night Raw tonight from the Key Arena in Seattle, Washington.

Bryan has been out of WWE action since spring 2015, when he was sent home from a WWE tour of Europe due to unannounced health issues. It was later revealed that it was due to concussion issues. Bryan has been out of action since then, only appearing on WWE TV sporadically, doing WWE PR and appearing as Brie Bella’s husband on Total Divas.

While he has been given a clean bill of health by several doctors, WWE’s main doctor, Joseph Maroon, has refused to clear him due to concussion-related issues. It’s been rumored that if Maroon won’t clear Bryan, he would never be able to wrestle in WWE again.

In December 2015, Bryan appeared to be pessimistic, while doing press in Singapore, he said:
I think it could be the end of my career in WWE, but I don’t think it will be the end of my career. I could find another passion, but it would just be sad because this is what I have been most passionate about since I was five.

This weekend, new rumblings came up that Bryan would be appearing on Monday Night Raw this week.

Bryan was recently spotted en route from Phoenix, Arizona to Seattle Washington. Raw happens to be eminating from the Key Arena in Seattle, leading to speculation that Bryan would be appearing on the show tonight.

At this point, whether or not Bryan even appears on Raw appears up in the air. However, WWE has been strugging to find a hook for Wrestlemania 32. Having Bryan announce a return, even for a one-off match against possible dream opponents like AJ Styles, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens or even Nakamura, could be a huge boost to Wrestlemania 32.
