Even More Details On Daniel Bryan’s Retirement: Bryan Danielson’s Contract Status

UPDATE: Daniel Bryan explains why he had to retire; WWE not the villain.

Earlier today we learned that Daniel Bryan, real name Bryan Danielson, was retiring from in-ring wrestling competition.

This was a decision that WWE seems to have forced him into as Daniel Bryan had other plans that didn’t pan out.

The next big question is what will Daniel Bryan’s new out-of-ring role with WWE be? That remains to be announced.

The next question is how many years are left on his frozen, due to injury, contract? According to reports citing a interview with Daniel Bryan a few months ago, he has 3 years left on his WWE contract. And, the time he’s been off injured is counted as an extension to the contract.

That contract will likely not be renegotiated based on his new role as it would allow Daniel to choose not to re-up with WWE. All signs point to WWE paying him what he’s owed in his contract, for 3 years, a contract presumably for a full-time in-ring wrestler even though he’ll have an out-of-ring new role with WWE or… just stay home and be seen on Total Divas on E! alongside his wife, WWE Diva Brie Bella.
