If the rumor of Wade Barrett not re-signing with World Wrestling Entertainment holds up, it will be another booking failure (depending on your thoughts of the in-ring performer) by the sports entertainment giant. Having been plagued with injuries and visa problems, not to mention the lack of a main event push, Barrett is likely to leave WWE when his contract runs out this summer, a month or two prior to WWE’s second-biggest event of the year, SummerSlam.
Now Barrett’s possible exit of the company this June or July is attributed to Ryan Satin at ProWrestlingSheet and has been picked up by other outlets. Barrett’s Legends deal won’t be affected as his likeness can still be used in the production of WWE action figures and other media (the WWE 2K video game franchise, WWE Home Video releases, et al.).
Until WWE wishes Wade Barrett well with all future endeavors (TNA as a possible destination spot?) consider this nothing more than a rumor. More details as the story develops in the coming months.
