According to lucha libre sources, it appears Sexy Star’s departure from Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) is not just a rumor, and will be made official in the near future. These same sources also conclude that Sexy Star’s relationship with AAA was partly affected by her work with Lucha Underground.
Also, the name “Sexy Star” and its trademark are also still property of AAA. Her character may not necessarily be affected on the current season of Lucha Underground and the future episode premieres that still have yet to air. However, it will be interesting to see what happens, especially if Sexy Star is unable to keep her character in future seasons of LU and if she chooses to work with other promotions.
Sexy Star’s departure was projected as a storyline in AAA in which she had a fake neck injury and gave up a championship title.
Several popular luchadores have left AAA for a variety of reasons, including the most recent departure by Rey Mysterio. Mysterio left due to a strained relationship with AAA, in which the company owed him critical amounts of paychecks.
