Mick Foley has fond memories of the Freebirds and wrote a short blog about it.

I’m very happy that THE FABULOUS FREEBIRDS are being inducted into the #WWEHOF . They were a revolutionary team that drew money and legitimate heat everywhere they went.
I thought the best way I could honor them would be to share an article I wrote shortly after Buddy Roberts death in 2013. I wanted to write something special – something that would do this unique and talented wrestler, and longtime friend, justice – and I think I succeeded. I hope you will take the time to read it and share it with others.
