Backstage News On Bobby Roode’s WWE Contract Status

News

Bobby Roode recently took part in an interview with the Peterborough Examiner and denied rumors that he has already signed a WWE contract:

“I’m not officially signed yet. The Internet has blown up over it, and I mean, I’m close, but I don’t want to spoil anything or ruin anything. I want to wait until it’s official. I don’t want to jinx anything either.”

Roode may have shot down the rumors, but according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter the denial might not mean much. Roode, like other new talents, are told to deny reports and avoid telling people they’ve signed until WWE can formally announce it themselves, and even if it’s only a verbal agreement with Roode at this point, he would still have to deny it anyway.

Dave Meltzer recently speculated on Wrestling Observer Radio that Roode will be offered a similar deal to the ones recently signed by Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano ( a”Tier 2″ contract, which would allow him to continue working independent dates alongside his regular NXT bookings).
I've been following wrestling for almost 30 years now, and the metal scene for even longer. And let's just say that all that head-banging has left me with some weird ideas that i will share with you from time to time. Aren't you glad?
