Maddy-leaves-the-BBCAN-GRAND

The day after she was evicted out of the Big Brother Canada 4 house, I had the chance to catch up with Maddy Pavle to discuss what happened. We chatted about a variety of topics including why she thinks the brothers chose to target her, the future of her relationship with Ramsey and who she is rooting for to win. She also used the opportunity to take a few shots at Kelsey.

Check out the interview below!

Murtz Jaffer: It didn’t seem like you were surprised that you were evicted. When did you first get the sense that the houseguests didn’t have any intention of keeping you?

Maddy Pavle: Realistically, I think the second week, I knew that I was always going to be someone that they wanted out of the house. As soon as I was on the block, I knew that I would have a tough time staying.

MJ: What was it about the second week that made you realize it wasn’t going to be easy to stay?

MP: Just because I made an alliance with certain people and we were instantly divided. I don’t think that helped for any of us. Jared, Dallas, Kelsey… it was always going to be that way and I knew that it was going to be hard to get out of the alliance that everyone knew that I was in.

MJ: The girls were not on the same page this season. What started that trend?

MP: I am not sure. All of us just wanted to be the top dog and that obviously can’t happen. We are all strong women and throwing us into a house together was going to be hard. The girls just always seemed to be the constant target.

MJ: It appeared like you initially had feelings for Nick and then later seemed to connect more with Ramsey. Can you explain the differences (if any) between your relationships with both?

MP: My relationship with Nick was purely strategic. Yes, I really liked him as a human being and as a friend. I wanted nothing more than to hang out with him and it was awesome but it was totally strategic. With Ramsey, it was full-out feelings and I cared about him a lot and wanted to pursue something.

MJ: The feud between you ad Kelsey seemed quite personal and that was even before she stole your duck. Why couldn’t you work together?

MP: Kelsey is just not my human. We never will be each other’s best friend and we just don’t get along. It’s just the way the cookie crumbles and I don’t like when people steal my things.

MJ: How much did Ramsey’s exit from the game impact your ability to stay?

MP: I think I would have had a better chance to stay in the house if Ramsey was here this week. Not only would he have helped me campaign but he would have been one vote for me to stay no matter what. The brothers knew that they had to break up the dynamic duo.

MJ: Nick ad Phil seemed like they weren’t sure which showmance they wanted to put up on the block and which one they wanted to align with. Why do you think they decided to stick with Jared and Kelsey?

MP: Me and Ramsey over Jared and Kelsey was tough because me and Jared have the same level of strength. We are both the strongest people in the game. Me and Ramsey were just so much stronger than Jared and Kelsey as the two of us. I mean Kelsey was pretty much just useless and was there to look good whereas me and Ramsey actually fought for this game and showed our physical and mental strength. We were a pretty strong duo.

MJ: So you don’t think Kelsey was bringing anything to the game even in terms of her social game or are you speaking strictly from a competition standpoint?

MP: I think on both. I don’t find Kelsey too social. She has rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. Just because she has had two best friends in the house, it doesn’t mean she has played a great social game. It just means that she is here for the “experience” as she would say. I think she brings absolutely nothing to the table.

MJ: You made so many arguments to stay and didn’t go down without a fight. Ultimately, why do you think the houseguests decided to keep Tim and was this a decision that they will regret?

MP: They will regret the decision to keep Tim everyday that they are in that house. Tim is going to go after them and they just don’t know it yet. Yes, being up next to Tim was tough just because he is such a liked person but at the end of the day, I was the strongest person left in the game so I had to go.

MJ: Your decision to evict Loveita was definitely the turning point of the entire season and I just wanted to get your thoughts on that move. It seemed like Loveita was on your side and by deciding to eliminate her, you also seemed to lose Dallas’ trust. What was your thought process?

MP: Going into that, the first two weeks of the game, Loveita and I were in an alliance. There were five of us and we would never go against each other and that’s what was said. She had shown her loyalty to other people and I had heard about her making deals with people on the other side so I instantly lost trust. I told her that I wasn’t ever going to work with her again. Dallas and Ramsey were still in my alliance and I didn’t owe her anything. She was a tough cookie and had to go.

MJ: Ultimately, who would you like to see win Big Brother Canada 4?

MP: I would like to see Jared win Big Brother. I don’t think that’s going to happen. I am rooting for him.

MJ: If you had the ability to evict anyone from the house right now, who would it be?

MP: I would probably evict the brothers or just about anybody right now! Vengeance for all. No one in the house right now is playing the game that they should and they are all just being best friends and braiding each other’s hair.
