Full spoilers and review of Civil War II #1 are now here.
Spoilers follow for Civil War II #1.
Below is the preview Marvel Comics has released for Civil War II #1.
And, here are the lettered interiors via USA Today.
Here’s also the key points from the Free Comic Book Day 2016 (FCBD 2016) offering by Marvel of Civil War II.
Spoilers for FCBD’s Civil War II follow.
Ulysses, the Inhuman who can see the future, will be the crux of the dispute that brings half of the Marvel Comics universe to side with Iron Man and the other with Captain Marvel. The lines have been drawn as per the below.
Well, Ulysses made his Marvel Comics debut in this FCBD 2016 offering alongside other Inhumans.
Thanos is coming. And he’s ready for a fight; a BIG fight.
And he decimates She-Hulk. Is she alive?
He seemingly also takes out War Machine, James “Rhodey” Rhodes. Is Captain Marvel’s love interest really dead?
Well, Marvel Comics really wants us to believe Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers, can take on and rival Thanos. The Free Comic Book Day 2016 ends in a bang that gets us ready for Civil War II #0!
Well it looks that the Free Comic Book Day 2016 Civil War II issue actually chronologically pre-dates the book it led into: Civil War II #0.
Spoilers follow for Civil War #0.
An interesting element of Civil War #0 is that President Obama wants James Rhodes, War Machine, to be his Secretary of Defense.
That said, the real meaningful elements of the book relate to the Terrigen mists and two cocoons in Ohio.
They hatch. One revealing Ulysses who we met in the FCBD 2016 issue. He looks pretty human.
The other coccon opens and we have a harpy of sorts.
Two new Inhumans born. And, Ulysses visions of the future – which place him in the middled of Civil War II as its catalyst – manifest.
The future is not bright for Marvel.
The battle lines are now formed. Captain Marvel wants to use Ulysses and change the future while Iron Man wants to protect Ulysses and not tinker with the future. Ulysses is the greats WMD in Marvel right now.
Ok, now you’re ready for Civil War II #1… except for two things!
