Warner Bros. Selling A Different Movie With Ultimate Cut Of Batman v Superman

Disc Announcements, News

In an early announcement to retailers, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has dated the forthcoming DVD, Blu-ray and Ultra HD releases of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice – Ultimate Cut for July 19, 2016. These releases will be preceded by the Digital HD version, which arrives June 26. Director Zack Snyder’s Ultimate Cut DOES include the version millions saw during its theatrical run but the big selling point is a much longer version of the film (30 minutes of never-before-seen footage) that, judging from the trailer to promote the home video release, will have subplots and characters that were cut out all together. The slickly produced spot looks to emphasize Superman’s actions of potentially killing civilians in his rescuing of Lois Lane in Africa.

The Ultimate Cut of Batman v Superman has been given a restricted rating for its sequences of violence. The Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD releases will include a slew of featurettes on the making-of the film and its characters.
