In an interview with The Norfolk Navy Flagship, Becky Lynch said that women should be able to take part in the same specialty matches that the men do. Here are highlights:

On the next Next goal in the women’s wrestling revolution: “We want to main event WrestleMania. We want to main event every pay-per-view, if it’s possible. The next step will be having (former NXT Women’s Champion) Bayley up here to have that foursome.”

On if women should compete in specialty matches like TLC: “Oh, absolutely. I don’t see any reason why there wouldn’t be. At the moment, I don’t think they’re necessary because I think we’re holding our own without any extras.”

On wrestlers she came up with like Finn Balor and Paige in WWE: “It’s incredible. The amount of people I can name that I crossed paths with.. We were just in Italy and I remember ten years ago: Myself, Sami Zayn, and Kevin Owens were in these 5,000 seat arenas but only had 100 people in the crowd. To go from that – I was in Italy with WWE, flying to Milan, and the place is sold out. It’s insane how far we’ve come. I think you meet these people along the way and you know that they’re going to make it. It’s cool to be all on the same journey and to be in it together.”
