Star Trek-50

It looks like Paramount Home Entertainment is getting ready to boldly go where many studios have gone before when it comes to home video releases: Repackaging.

Double dips, new cover art, and repackages are nothing new, but for Trekkies, Paramount is adding more than a few bells and whistles to the mix.

The STAR TREK 50th Anniversary TV and Movie Collection will debut September 6th as a limited edition 30-disc Blu-ray Box Set containing every movie and TV series featuring the original crew, including the remastered animated series – never before available in high-definition.

If that wasn’t enough, the box will include a multi-part documentary that chronicles the six Star Trek films, from “The Original Motion Picture” to the “Undiscovered Country.” The collection will also include the recently released Director’s Cut of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and collector paraphernalia (exclusive Starfleet pin commemorating the 50th anniversary and new mini-posters for the first six feature films designed by acclaimed artist Juan Ortiz).
