DC Comics Rebirth’s Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #1 spoilers and review follow!
I may have been one of the few who LOVED Sinestro’s New 52 and DC You series. At the time it was the best Green Lantern family book on stands. During DC Comics Rebirth, Sinestro has fallen on hard times, wants to do good in his own way, and needs his youth and power back.
So he absorbs Parallax again…
…and dons a Parallax inspired costume a la Hal Jordan’s from back when he was consumed by Parallax; in contrast Sinestro appears to be able to harness Parallax’s power… for now.
Just check out Hal Jordan’s classic Parallax costume that debuted in 1994 for a comparison. It’s almost the same, but a different color for Sinestro in 2016.
Anyhow, back to 2016 where we move into space and see a mysterious green energy flicker and then erupt bringing with it…
…the Green Lantern Corps lost army freed from the edge of oblivion. You have John Stewart, Guy Gardner and others…
…and their exhausted, but home!
An uplifting end to the issue and the saga of the Lost Army of the GLC!
So…
A decent issue with solid art. Lots of action and advancement on the Sinestro and GLC story beats. I’m very curious how and when Kyle Rayner will emerge. If you love your classic Earth-born Green Lanterns – Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner and John Stewart- this is the title for you according to DC Comics with Kyle on his way set to play a big role in the near future.
