WWE has the final week of main roster TV heading into Summerslam 2016 and hype for the event should hit a fever pitch.

The lead story heading into the show is how Brock Lesnar will respond to Randy Orton.

from WWE.com:
The animosity between Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton has never been greater, and at SummerSlam, The Viper and The Beast Incarnate will wage a war that’s been 15 years in the making. On the final Raw before The Biggest Event of the Summer, Lesnar will address his forthcoming clash with WWE’s Apex Predator. Will Orton be watching?

Brock vs Randy is being promoted hard, and is the only match on the show that is “cross brand”, with the rest of the card settling into brand-exclusive matches.

Without its own World Title, Stephanie McMahon invented the Universal Title, and in only 6 days the first ever Universal Champion will be crowned. Seth Rollins vs Finn Balor has been heating up, with Rollins cutting promos running down Balor, but Finn responding with an ultra cool Demon video. The final build will occur on Raw, with something heated between them expected.

Roman Reigns crashed the post-wedding celebration of Rusev and Lana last week on Raw, creating an issue behind a United States Title match between the two scheduled for Summerslam. Rusev is fuming, and he will have something in store for Roman. The Big Dog got a positive reaction last week, and might be able to get some babyface momentum based on the hated heel Rusev. This should be a big part of the go-home Raw for Summerslam.

The Club members Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows donned wacky doctor costumes last week to further their feud with the New Day, and the two teams are headed for a clash over the WWE Tag Team Titles at Summerslam. In a half serious/half comedy storyline involving Big E’s balls, the New Day is looking for revenge against the challengers and setup the title match. The final chapter of the storyline heading into Summerslam will go down on one (or more) segments this week on Raw.

Charlotte’s bodyguard and backup Dana Brooke is now banned from ringside at her title rematch against Sasha Banks at Summerslam, due to Banks defeating Brooke on Raw last week. Without her partner, Charlotte is alone and has something to prove against Banks.

Sheamus and Cesaro have had some issues on Raw lately stemming around feeling slighted in the draft. Cesaro has scored two wins in a row against Sheamus – although neither are booked for Summerslam 2016. These two should have another piece of the storyline on Raw.

One of the most entertaining part of Raw recently has been the verbal sparring between the teams of Enzo Amore & Big Cass and Chris Jericho & Kevin Owens. These two teams are facing off in a top level tag team grudge match at Summerslam, and will most definitely have some promo work to build things up on Raw.

All this plus more squash matches for Braun Strowman and Nia Jax, another cameo from the One Man Band Heath Slater, Mick Foley cutting some promos and much more!

Here is the WWE.com Quick hit Preview:

  1. Lesnar to address The Viper. Meanwhile, Orton has vowed to “kill the legend of Brock Lesnar” at SummerSlam, referring to the fact that The Beast has been nearly unbeatable since conquering The Undertaker’s WrestleMania Streak in 2014.
  2. Can Roman Reigns spoil Rusev’s night yet again? The Ravishing Russian vowed revenge against The Big Dog in an interview
  3. Seth Rollins to deconstruct The Demon King. Bálor affirmed that The Demon King will be waiting for Rollins at SummerSlam, where myth just might become a horrifying reality for The Architect
  4. How will The New Day retaliate against Gallows & Anderson?
  5. Do cheaters prosper? Although Backlund was furious at O’Neil’s previous rule-bending behavior, he couldn’t be prouder in the wake of his apprentice’s big win, claiming that he didn’t see Young do anything wrong.
  6. Charlotte goes solo. If she’s truly alone at SummerSlam, will Charlotte need to come up with a new strategy to unseat The Boss in Brooklyn?
