Los Angeles, California – Join Shout! Factory in appreciating the world’s oceans and the wonders within when the stunning Giant Screen films The Last Reef: Cities Beneath The Sea and Wonders of the Arctic come to the home entertainment marketplace on September 13. Originally seen in theaters, they will now each be available in a 4K UHD + 3D Blu-ray + Blu-ray + Digital Copy set, as well as a Blu-ray + Digital Copy set.

Shot on location in Palau, Vancouver Island, French Polynesia, Mexico, and The Bahamas, The Last Reef takes us on a global journey to explore our connection with the ocean’s complex, parallel worlds. Fly across iridescent tropical reefs. Brush through a cloud of countless jellyfish. Visit an alien world where the closer you look, the more you see. We think of reefs as exotic, distant places with little connection to our everyday world. Yet each of them is a hotspot of biodiversity, as vital to life on earth as the rainforests. Just as the Amazon has its secrets, so too do the reefs.

New underwater 3D technology takes us into the heart of the reef, revealing a habitat more diverse and more colorful than you ever imagined. Special features on The Last Reef: Cities Beneath The Sea include trailers, a photo gallery, and behind-the-scenes videos, and the film offers French and Spanish language tracks.

Wonders of the Arctic centers on the ongoing mission to explore and come to terms with the Arctic, and the compelling stories of the many forays into this captivating world.

The Arctic has always been a place of mystery, myth and fascination. The Inuit and their predecessors adapted and thrived for thousands of years in what is arguably the harshest environment on Earth. Today, the Arctic is the focus of intense research. Instead of seeking to conquer the north, scientist pioneers are searching for answers to some troubling questions about the impacts of human activities around the world on this fragile and largely uninhabited frontier. Wonders of the Arctic offers a French language track, and special features include IMAX® trailers and a bonus video.

With high dynamic range (HDR) and Dolby Atmos®, 4K UHD delivers incredible picture clarity and immersive audio for the optimal home entertainment experience. Shout! Factory is proud to be the only independent studio releasing films in the new 4K UHD format, joining industry leaders and major consumer electronic companies on the forefront of this new content.

The critically acclaimed and award-winning odysseys Journey to Space (June 7), Flight of the Butterflies (July 12), Rocky Mountain Express (July 12), and Humpback Whales (August 2) join The Last Reef: Cities Beneath The Sea and Wonders of the Arctic in an exciting slate of films produced by the world-renowned teams of MacGillivary Freeman Films, K2 Communications, SK Films, The Stephen Low Company, Giant Screen Films, GSF, Science North, Yes/No, and Liquid Pictures.

These releases are produced in conjunction with Ryan Mullins at Big Picture Digital Productions.
