…Smackdown Live just got two more with the champs crowned at Backlash 2016!

At Smackdown Live tonight Commissioner Shane McMahon and General Manager unveiled two new championships and their plan to crown champions. Photo galleries of the championships follow at the end of this piece.
Smackdown Women’s Championship belt
The first strap is the Smackdown Women’s Championship belt, yes that’s the name, and as was spoiled earlier, it looks like the Raw Women’s Championship only with blue in the background for Smackdown Live vs. the Raw red. Here’s a pic with the rest of the gallery at the end of this piece.
The new Smackdown Women’s Champion will be crowned at Backlash on tSeptember 11, 2016 the result of a 6-pack challenge involving the following competitors:
- Becky Lynch
- Nikki Bella
- Natlaya
- Naomi
- Carmella
- Alexa Bliss
Smackdown Tag Team Championship belts
The second championship is he Smackdown Tag Team Championship belts, yes that’s what its called too, and it looks like WWE Raw’s WWE Tag Team Championship belts, but it has silver vs. copper metal and its strap is blue. Here’s a photo with the rest of the gallery at the end of this piece.
Between now and Backlash, the tag teams of Smackdown Live will compete week in and week out with the winners advancing. The final match of the tournament will be at Backlash on September 11, 2016 where new champions will be crowned.
There are six teams currently involved, but if Heath Slater can find a tag team partner they can enter the tournament making it seven teams and then Shane McMahon will find an eighth team to enter the tournament. The catch for Slater? Slater and his partner have to win the tournament for Heath Slater to get a Smackdown contract.
And, Slater did find a partner and advance in the tournament; Rhyno has partnered with Slater!
