WWE Raw opened with all competitors for the WWE Universal Championship belt in the ring.
Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Kevin Owens and Big Cass participated in a Fatal 4-Way Elimination match to crown a new WWE Universal Champion after Finn Balor vacated the title due to injury after winning it at Summerslam 2016 after defeating Seth Rollins.
Finn Balor had successful surgery last week and is on the mend expected to be back in 6 months just in time for 2017’s Wrestlemania 33 in April 2017. Balor said the first thing he would do upon his return to WWE Raw was to challenge the champion for the WWE Universal Championship belt.
