DC Rebirth is upon us:

The book opens with someone or something hoping to test Cyborg as you can see from the narration.

The mysterious Red Room, that we saw during Forever Evil, reemerges; its where all the significant and dangerous tech is kept in DC Comics!

We also get a retelling of Cyborg’s origin plus an action shot with Cyborg being a founding member of the Justice League in DC Comics Rebirth.

Cyborg defeats Malware, but also finds a recording of his father speaking about his son and concerns over his humanity and other things.

Cyborg is interested and haunted by that recording, but the battle has been won!

He listens to more of the recording and wonders whether he is actually Victor Stone or a downloaded copy of the original Victor Stone while the individual who was testing him…

…reveals that all the mechanized heroes and villains in DC Comics all have been engineered from patient zero… the Cyborg Superman, Supergirl’s dad! Plus, speaking of that, the big villain of this Cyborg series is…

…Cyborg’s dad Silas Stone?! Or someone bearing a resemblance to him? Certainly DC wants us ti think its him with the “father” references in the dialogue.

So…

I actually wasn’t expecting to like this book or read it past the one-shot, but the art was so good and story so compelling I may just be here for sampling of the ongoing twice monthly series’ first arc. One of the best one-shots of the DC Comics Rebirth era so far.
