It’s back! After a short break, WTLFT is back up and running. Here is a quick look at some highlights on the shelves this week. Just a few books I want to talk about, plus a modest stack of new TPBs and HCs, so without further ado let’s dive in…

New This Week:

doom-patrol-01Doom Patrol #1 – Kicking off DC’s new “Young Animal” line comes the must-read for this month. If anyone other than Gerard Way were writing this I’m not sure I’d be reading it. It seems like a good fit for him – kind of an “out-there” guy for an “out-there” team. Plus, I think he’s still pretty good friends with Grant Morrison and I’m sure they consulted at some point. Should be an interesting read!

Avatar: The Last Airbender Vol. 13: North and South, Part One – Katara and Soka return to the Southern Water Tribe to find their dad as well as some changes to their village. These continuations of the show have been great, and this one looks to be the same!

Hadrian’s Wall #1 – I’ve been a fan of Kyle Higgins since Batman: Gates of Gotham and I’m excited for his next creator-owned series! For those reading his previous series C.O.W.L., this will be a welcome comeback.

Gotham Academy: Second Semester #1 – The gang returns to school (kind of)! Check out the continuation of this instant hit and fan-favorite, as Olive stays in school over winter break and meets a new friend.

Other issues to look forward to:

Lady Killer 2 #2, The Black Monday Murders #2, Southern Cross #7

Collected Editions and OGNs:

king-babyFix Volume 1 TPB

King Baby HC – Kate Beaton’s second picture book! Check out the latest comics from the artist behind Hark! A Vagrant!

The Massive: Ninth Wave Library Edition
