CW DC TV Head Working On DC Comics Booster Gold Movie NOT Part Of Connected Existing DC Films? Will It Tie Into CW’s Arrow, The Flash, DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow & Supergirl?

News, Top Story

Greg Berlanti, the brains behind CW’s DC TV line-up of Arrow, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl, is working on another DC Comics project this time a Booster Gold film. However, it will not be tied to the DC Cinematic Universe being built from Superman V. Batman, Suicide Squad, Justice League and more.

Here’s what is being reported.

“As of right now we have no connective tissue to those worlds,” Berlanti said when asked if the movie would be part of the DC Extended Universe that already includes Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Suicide Squad (with Wonder Woman and Justice League following in 2017). “It’d be a separate thing.” He also said the project emerged from a long-dead Booster Gold TV show idea he was working on with longtime producing collaborator Andrew Kreisberg that “never got off the ground.” After it bit the dust, Berlanti and Kreisberg got into talks with DC Entertainment president and chief creative officer (and reported new film co-chief) Geoff Johns, and the topic of the producing duo doing a movie came up.

Well, with DC Comics being known for a multiverse, it makes sense that not all TV projects and movies involving DC characters needed to be on the same Earth. However, will it tie into Berlanti’s CW DC TV universe? Time will tell.
