DC Comics Rebirth Spoilers and Review follows for Green Lanterns #10!
The Phantom Lantern arc now finally and formally begins after months of set-up and teasing!
While Green Lanterns Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz are doing super-heroics in the neighbourhood, Frank Laminski breaks into Simon’s home to claim Rami the Rogue Lantern’s…
He is confronted by Rami who threatens to disable him, but Volthoom strikes surprising the Rogue Guardian!
Frank Laminiski puts on the Phantom Lantern ring and becomes the Phantom Lantern with his own Phantom Lantern oath!
The Phantom Lantern Oath:
“In Desperate Day… In Hopeless Night… The Phantom Ring Is Our Last Light. We Yearn For Power, Strength And Might…I Seize The Ring, That’s My Right! I Am The Phantom Lantern!”
The Phantom Lantern Ring can seemingly not just make him a Phantom Lantern, but also a Green Lantern…
…as well as a Sinestro Yellow Lantern and other light spectrum lanterns as well.
As Green Lanterns Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz save a home from fire they see a familiar Green Lantern streak in the sky as…
…Frank Laminiski as a Green Lantern, powered by the Phantom Ring, kidnaps Rami the Rogue Lantern!
We also get a colored version of the Green Lantern #11 cover tease!
I enjoyed the issue. We finally get the Phantom Lantern in place yet the confrontation with the Green Lanterns appear to happen next issue. Another side effect of decrompressed storytelling as I’d hoped for that sooner, but I was enterained and sucked into the story written by Sam Hupheries yet not a huge fan of the rough at time art of penciller Eduardo Pansica and inker Julio Ferreira. I give this book at 7 out of 10.
