Marvel Comics April 2017 Solicitations Spoilers follows.

The upcoming Secret Empire event appears to be Marvel’s opportunity for social commentary on the Trump administration equating it with Hydra in Civil War II: The Oath #1.

It now seems that a cover Marvel Comics commissioned for America #2 appears to be sending another message to or about U.S. President Trump’s administration. The cover was likely commissioned before the women’s marches that followed President Trump’s inauguration, but well before then many women have made their views known about the President’s alleged misogyny. This cover includes stern looking diverse women with….

…the Hispanic-America hero dubbed America averting her eyes from the new President? Sending a message that America is averting its eyes too?

Subtle political jab by Marvel or a hip hop tribute to Beyonce’s Formation video…

…or to a Rihanna album cover?
