Wrestlemania 33 Spoilers: Bill Golberg & Chris Jericho Have Buried Hatchet After WCW Incident & WWE Choke-out?

News, Spoilers

Wrestlemania 33 Spoilers follow.

Much has been made pre and post social media advent over Bill Goldberg and Chris Jericho’s issues and animosity in their WCW and early WWE days.

One big issue was Chris Jericho ready to job to Bill Goldberg during his WCW winning streak days, but wanting it to be at a PPV not on free TV on Monday Nitro. Legend has it that Jericho hid during the Nitro in question and Goldberg was angry.

This animosity spilled into their early WWE days. A backstage incident is much talked about concerning the two men becoming physical and Jericho actually subduing Goldberg and, as the parlance goes, choking him put.

Chris Jericho had this to say about his relationship with Goldberg a few years ago.

“It was a different world then [in WCW]. Things happen all the time. When everybody is holding on to their position like I got to do this, I got to do that, Goldberg and I saw wrestling from both sides of a different coin. But both of us were very successful. There wasn’t a lot of interest on his end to work with me in WCW. There was a little animosity between us that transferred to the WWE. We had a scuffle [in WWE] — it wasn’t what everyone says — where Jericho took him down and tied him in a knot. I stood up for myself and held my ground. It was what it was. It was unfortunate for Bill, it was on his first day, so he kind of got labeled right off the bat.”

“If you want to score it, Jericho – 1, Goldberg – 0. There will never be a rematch, ever. If it ever happens, I’ll run away screaming because I’m not going to say I got lucky, but I’m glad the outcome was the way it was because I thought he was going to tear my head off. Bill [Goldberg] is a good guy, man, I have nothing but love for him, nothing but respect.”

Well, it looks like all is good between the two at Wrestlemania 33 as they had a cozy chat before the Ultimate Thrill Ride as you can see per the below.

Don’t always believe what you read on the ‘net. You have been warned.

It looks like its been good between them for some time urban legends be damned!
