DC Comics Rebirth Spoilers for Action Comics #987 and #988, Oz Effect parts 1 and 2, follow.
DC Comics have revealed the lenticular covers by Nick Bradshaw to September 2017’s Action Comics #987 and #988, The Oz Effect parts 1 and 2. Superman is front and center.
The prevailing rumor or speculation has been that Mr. Oz is actually Ozymandias of the Watchmen. That made even more sense when the word about the Doomsday Clock event was announced pitting Supoerman against the Watchmen’s Doctor Manhattan; perhaps the latter a puppet of Ozymanidias.
However, while Superman and the Watchmen remain a big part of the Doomsday Clock, Mr. Oz may not be based, in particular, on what the cover to Action Comics #988 infers.

That cover to Action Comics #988 infers that Superman’s father, Jor-el, survived Krypton’s explosion somehow; that was kind of teased in the Trinity #8 cover that opens this article. So, is Jor-el actually Mr. Oz? What has been collecting beings for? To help or hinder Superman as Doomsday Clock looms?
October 2017 will have Action Comics #989 and #990, Parts 3 and 4 of The Oz Effect, with lenticular covers by Nick Bradshaw that have yet to be revealed.
Wow. Jor-el and not Ozymandias? What do you think?
