Inside Pulse Wrestilng’s WWE NXT Rankings 08.24.17

Features, News, Rankings

Welcome to the WWE NXT Rankings by Inside Pulse Wrestling.

In these rankings we take the top 10 contenders for the NXT Championship, and Top 5 for each the NXT Woman’s Championship, & NXT Tag Team Championship. In the rankings we take 3 major factors into account:

-Win/Loss over the past month
-Amount of TV Time dedicated to a particular character and/or storyline
-Logical storyline progression

A special note on NXT Rankings, any main roster superstar that appears on NXT is not considered a NXT Superstar, unless they are listed on WWE.com’s NXT roster page.

A new ranking report will be released after the first weekly NXT show after a Takeover event.

Champion – Drew McIntyre (since 08.19.17)
1. Bobby Roode (Champion)
2. Aleister Black (4)
3. Roderick Strong (1)
4. Hideo Itami (3)
5. Andrade “Cien” Almas (7)
6. Killian Dain (NR)
7. Johnny Gargano (NR)
8. Kassius Ohno (5)
9. The Velveteen Dream (8)
10. No Way Jose (NR)

We have a new Champion in Drew McIntyre! Booby Roode is still due a rematch, however his move to SmackDown Live may make that a moot point (as of publishing these rankings, he is still on the NXT roster on WWE.com). Black & Almas both pick up big wins at Takeover, and both should be in line for a title shot soon, unless Adam Cole leapfrogs everyone!

Champion – Asuka (since 04.01.16)
1. Ember Moon (NR)
2. Ruby Riot (2)
3. Peyton Royce (3)
4. Billie Kay (4)
5. Nikki Cross (1)

Asuka is reported to have a broken collarbone. There has not been any deterimation on what will happen to the NXT Woman’s Championship, but the timing could work right into using the Mae Young Classic to jumpstart a new Champion.

Champions – Eric Young & Alexander Wolfe of Sanity (since 08.19.17)
1. Authors of Pain (Champions)
2. Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Rielly (NR)
3. Street Profits (5)
4. Heavy Machinery (1)
5. Tino Sabbatelli & Riddick Moss (4)

Sanity hands the AoP their first loss, and dethrones them. AoP will get a rematch, but the former reDRagon seems to have their sights set on belts. The Street Profits are looking strong right out of the blocks, with Heavy Machinery has stumbled a bit.

As of right now, the next NXT Rankings will take place after Takeover: Houston in November.

I like Comics, Wrestling, Super Mario Bros & Dead Space. Oh ya, and Scott Pilgrim.
