Murtz On The Scene: Exclusive Interview With Kevin (Probably) Saves The World‘s Joanna Garcia Swisher & Jason Ritter At CTV Upfront 2017

Kevin (Probably) Saves The World is the story of Kevin (played by Jason Ritter), a down on-his-luck average man who begrudgingly moves in with his twin sister and her teenage daughter only to realize he might not be so average. Kevin is soon visited by a celestial being named Yvette who tells him that he has been tasked by God to save the world and that she has been sent to protect him in this mission. As you might expect, Kevin is the only one who can see Yvette and hear what she is telling him to do.

The show primarily asks the viewer to retain a sense of disbelief and to believe in something higher. It is a feel-good family comedy that almost solely concentrates on forcing its audience to feel something and it is in this regard that it succeeds.

At CTV’s 2017 upfront presentation, I caught up with Kevin (Probably) Saves The World‘s JoAnna Garcia Swisher and Jason Ritter. We chatted about the concept of the show that sees a regular guy being visited by a celestial being who tells him that he is responsible for saving the world. We also talked about how the series involves a lot of heart and I asked if that is what drew the actors to the script.
