Marvel Senior Vice President Tom Brevoort Responds To Brian Michael Bendis DC Comics Move

Brian Michael Bendis and Jim Lee

The comics industry was rocked yesterday with news that Marvel Comics writer stalwart Brian Michael Bendis was moving to DC Comics via an exclusivity deal.

Marvel corporately thanked BMB for his work, Marvel Chief Creative Officer and former EIC Joe Quesada thanked BMB for his Friendship, while fellow Marvel writer stalwart Dan Slott paid his respect to his peer.

Many fans have compared the news of Brian Michael Bendis to DC Comics to Jack Kirby’s move from Marvel to DC in 1970; high praise indeed.

The usually verbose Senior Vice President Of Publishing Tom Brevoort finally did respond late yesterday to the Bendis news with a few humorous tweets like the below and retweeting other messages from creators shocked by the news.

He also appears to have created the #BendisDC hashtag for good measure.

At press time current Marvel EIC remains silent on Brian Michael Bendis’s departure form Marvel to DC Comics.
