As Senator Al Franken’s Sexual Misconduct Accusers Grows To 6 And Over 20 Democratic Senators Call For His Resignation, DC Comics Artist And Franken Supporter Mick Gray Remains Silent.

We’ve been following DC Comics Artist Mick Gray’s initial resolute support and then mixed yet qualified support for former Saturday Night Live (SNL) comedian and current Democratic Senator Al Franken’s amidst an initial four allegations of sexual misconduct against the Minnesota senator.

A fifth accuser has since come forward accusing Senator Al Franken of sexual misconduct. In December 2003, Stephanie Kemplin of Ohio, an army veteran who was then deployed in Kuwait has accussed Franken of cupping her breast during a USO tour photo op. Kemplin has said that:

When he put his arm around me, he groped my right breast. He kept his hand all the way over on my breast. I’ve never had a man put their arm around me and then cup my breast. So he was holding my breast on the side.

A sixth accuser has also now come forward accusing Franken of sexual misconduct. A former Democratic congressional aide has accused Al Franken of forcing a kiss on her during his radio show in 2006. She has said that:

He was between me and the door and he was coming at me to kiss me. It was very quick and I think my brain had to work really hard to be like ‘Wait, what is happening?’ But I knew whatever was happening was not right and I ducked. I was really startled by it and I just sort of booked it towards the door and he said, ‘It’s my right as an entertainer.’”

Three of the six women accusers have been identified by name.

Enough seems to be enough for Democratic senators as, so far at press time, twenty-eight, thirteen women and fifteen men, have called for his resignation from the Senate. New York Democratic Senator Kirsten Gillibrand has said that:

While Senator Franken is entitled to have the Ethics Committee conclude its review, I believe it would be better for our country if he sent a clear message that any kind of mistreatment of women in our society isn’t acceptable by stepping aside to let someone else serve.

California Democratic Senator Kamala Harris has also said that:

Sexual harassment and misconduct should not be allowed by anyone and should not occur anywhere. I believe the best thing for Senator Franken to do is step down.

Senator Al Franken has announced he will hold a press conference on Thursday December 6, 2017 where he is expected to resign.

DC Comics artist Mick Gray, who has questioned previous Franken accusers like Leeann Tweeden, and forwarded a petition in support of Franken, has remained silent on Franken as the list of accusers have grown and as his own Democratic Senators call for his resignation.
