Phantom Thread Blu-ray Announced

Disc Announcements, News

We’ve got a fever. That may be on account of it being Oscar season or some bad mushrooms. Nevertheless, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has announced the release date of Paul Thomas Anderson’s Phantom Thread, which was nominated for six Academy Awards. Starring Daniel Day-Lewis as fashion designer Reynolds Woodcock, PTA delivers an exquisite period drama set around the glamour of 1950s post-war London. Reynolds has dressed movie starlets and British royalty along with his sister, Cyril (Oscar nominee Lesley Manville). But the House of Woodcock gets disrupted when Reynolds comes across a young waitress named Alma (Vicky Krieps), whose plain appearance disguises a strong-willed woman. As Reynolds’ muse and lover, Alma may just make his life “thread”-bare before all is said and done.

Phantom Thread will be available on digital platforms starting March 27th. A Blu-ray and DVD release will follow on April 10, 2018. Strangely, a 4K UHD release has not been announced. Special features are set to include Camera Tests with audio commentary by Paul Thomas Anderson, For the Hungry Boy (Deleted scenes accompanied by music by Jonny Greenwood), Behind the Scenes Photographs, and the House of Woodcock Fashion Show as narrated by Adam Buxton.
