DC Comics Universe and Nightwing #41 Spoilers and Review follow.

Final Judgement For The Judge. Does The Killing Spree Really End?

The Judge has manipulated a casino owner to blow up his building with a teddy bear bomb.

Nightwing makes the save…

…in a very cinematic way…

…including landing in the bed of, literally, a closeted married-to-a-woman man and his gay lover.

The Judge is escaping with his limo full of teddy bear bombs…

…forcing Nightwing to get creative so that these bombs are away from the buildings and the people in them.

The Judge uses is manipulative skills on Nightwing…

…so Nightwing releases him in the water, but…

…the “deal” doesn’t go as the Judge thought it would.

Yet, if you look back at the specific language of the deal he offered, it is literally what they both get in the end.

The Judge is jailed, Nightwing wins and the killing spree in Bludhaven is over.

This is also, I believe the last hurrah for the creative team.

So…

I am a huge fan of writer Sam Humphries and penciller Bernard Chang so was so pleased they were teaming up on this book despite only being one arc. They introduced a fresh, new, creepy villain and delivered a summer action movie blockbuster in the 2D comics medium. Well done. They will be missed on Nightwing. 9 out of 10.
