On Monday night’s performance finale, finalists Kyla Jade, Spensha Baker, Britton Buchanan and Brynn Cartelli squared off for the final time before a winner is crowned. The contestants were each asked to sing a solo cover, an original song and a duet with their respective coach.
I caught up with Kyla on the red carpet immediately after the show to get her take on her final competitive performances of the season. I asked her why she chose to put the spotlight on her back-up singers on Monday evening. We also discussed her rapport with Blake Shelton. I asked Kyle if there was any additional pressure on her given that she was a former background singer for Jennifer Hudson. We talked about the camaraderie between the finalists and if it was difficult for her to be up against fellow Team Blake member Spensha Baker for the ultimate crown.
