“A Dream Justice League”
Welcome to The Column where I experiment with various things when I want.
This week, instead of covering a new or recent comic book or event, I thought of creating my own Justice League team.
The Justice League, the premiere team of the DC Comics Universe, has had various rosters all changing over time. The Justice League has, mostly, always had the trinity of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman along with a Flash, a Green Lantern, Aquaman and Martian Manhunter making up the Big Seven. Recently the New 52 made Cyborg a founding member replacing Martian Manhunter which is a move I am iffy about; I always felt Cyborg was better suited with the Titans.
Now for my list of members, I wanted a mixture of Experience, Familiarity, Intelligence, Skills, Powers and Rookies.
Starting my roster off is the people we can’t have the league without the Trinity of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman.
Batman (Bruce Wayne)
Superman (Clark Kent)
Wonder Woman (Diana Prince)
Then we have the rest of the Big Seven.
Flash (Barry Allen)
Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)
Aquaman (Arthur Curry)
Martian Manhunter (J’onn J’onzz)
Then we have the indomitable.
Black Canary (Dinah Lance)
And then rookies of the League.
Shazam (Billy Batson)
Green Lantern (Jessica Cruz)
What do you think?
I have explained clearly why I chose who I chose and why I think they are needed on the roster.
- You might think two GLs are unnecessary, but I believe it is very much needed. I wanted a real firepower to the League and they can be that.
- Black Canary and Batman are the worlds’ greatest Martial Artists.
- Superman and Wonder Woman and Flash and Aquaman; we all know how awesome they are.
- Martian Manhunter is the de facto heart and soul of the League.
- Shazam is a real powerhouse who can be a huge help and also needs to be kept an eye on.
Together they can be the best team we need them to be.
So that is my Ultimate or Dream Justice League. It is my sincere wish that one day this team is featured in the books one day. I recognize each of you may have your own views and I respect that.
