Bound Signature Blu-ray Coming in August

Disc Announcements, News

Olive Films has announced that the latest title as part of its “Signature” series will be Bound. This slice of neo-noir, written and directed by the Wachowskis (of Matrix fame), was little seen at the time of its release in 1996 but is regarded to be a piece of groundbreaking work of LGBTQ cinema. Set to be released on August 28th, Olive Films has ensured that prospective buyers get their money’s worth by including both the theatrical and unrated cuts and an assortment of extras.

Gina Gershon stars as Corky, a tough-as-nails ex-con, and Jennifer Tilly is her lover Violet. A chance encounter in an elevator ignites a torrid affair between the two women, who soon plot to steal $2 million in laundered mob money and pin the blame on Violet’s mafioso boyfriend, Ceasar (Joe Pantoliano). Lauded for its hyper-stylized camera work and color design, Bound is a crackling retro-thriller that never strays too far from its noir roots.
