Columns, Top Story

Welcome to Image Rundown!

Here’s a (very) quick look at everything Image Comics is releasing this week, with highlights and quick reviews for new series and collected editions as well as good jumping-on points for new readers. Let’s get started!

New Series and Highlights

Cold Spots #1 (of 5) – From Cullen Bunn and Mark Torres comes a new ghost story, following private eye Dan Kerr as he attempts to track down his missing wife and daughter. And faces his deepest fears.

Curse Words Summer Special #1 – Sizajee decides to treat his infamous Nine to a day at the beach! This special one-shot serves as a prequel to Wizord’s time on Earth and gets us ready for arc the fourth, out September 19th! Jacques Zacques is set to make his Earthly return and he’s heading straight for Wizord.

Royal City #14 – Series finale! I’m a fan of Jeff Lemire’s, but sometimes his work can get a little too trippy and confusing (especially Trillium, which I did still enjoy). That said, this might be one of my favorites he’s done so far. A heart-warming, simple but compelling story that leads you through each family member’s process of dealing with a major loss.

Continuing Series

  • Aphrodite V #2
  • Days of Hate #7 (of 12)
  • Die Die Die #2
  • Gasolina #11
  • Hack/Slash Resurrection #10

  • Redneck #14
  • Shanghai Red #3
  • Witchblade #7
