While William Shatner Wishes Patrick Stewart Well On His Return To Star Trek, Iconic Captain James T. Kirk Actor Confirms He’s Done With Star Trek At Fan Expo Canada 2018.

Toronto Sun reports:

At 87, William Shatner’s career is still going boldly where few have gone before.

This Friday and Saturday, the Canadian TV icon will be meeting fans in Toronto for Fan Expo. He also has a touring show, he’s guest starring on various television shows, he’s got two albums on the go (a country music one and a Christmas LP) and he has a self-help book due (Live Long And…: What I Learned Along the Way) out next month.

One thing he won’t be doing, though, is beaming himself back on board the USS Enterprise as his best known character, Captain James T. Kirk.

This despite the news that his fellow Star Trek captain, Patrick Stewart, will be coming back for a new show that picks up with his Star Trek: The Next Generation character Jean-Luc Picard.

“I’m wishing Patrick all the best,” Shatner says down the line from Los Angeles. “I hope he does really well going back to Star Trek, but that isn’t for me.”
