Will Kevin Owens Be Back To WWE In Time For The Royal Rumble 2019 or Wrestlemania 35 In New Jersey After Double Knee Surgery?

Dave Meltzer reports:

While neither surgery was major, Owens’ left knee had more damage to it than previously thought. The tentative time for Owens’ return “looks to be perhaps late February, more likely early March, maybe April at the worst.”

So, that puts him back in WWE, assuming 6 month is the outside timeline, in March 2019. That may set up a match at Wrestlemania 35 in New Jersey on April 7th or a post-Wrestlemania Monday return.

It is unlikely he will be a surprise entrant for the 2019 Royal Rumble in Arizona on January 27, 2019.

Considering that his last match on Raw appeared to feature a double turn, with Bobby Lashley turning Heel and Kevin Owens seemingly turning Face, it’s unclear what role Kevin Owens will play upon his return to the ring including whether he’ll be paired with an also returning from surgery, both shoulders, Sami Zayn who is expected back around WM 35 too.
