The Column: DC Comics’ Aquaman / Justice League: Drowned Earth Event Crossover Begins Plus A Notional Checklist!

Drowned Earth

The Earth is Drowning. We are gonna talk about that this week in this column.

I am gonna be talking a bit about the upcoming DC Comics crossover called Drowned Earth.

The inciting incident is that Poseidon, the Lord of the Seas, is dead. Black Manta and Cheetah took him out.

Before that, you must know the Justice League have been at war with the Legion of Doom for quite a while. It is said to be the central theme of the book.

The Justice League vs the Legion of Doom.

Now with Poseidon dead, you know the seas are gonna cause some trouble. The Ocean Lords are gonna drown the Earth. Arthur has to take down Black Manta. The Justice League has to save people. Mera is Queen of Atlantis and has to do a lot.

You get the idea that everyone is busy, that is probably the goal of the Legion of Doom. However, their larger goal is yet to be revealed, but let’s see shall we?

Also I copied all the Drowned Earth solicits, so if you need to have a checklist, you can check here. Would be awesome.

I am a huge fan of the idea of focusing a major crossover on AQUAMAN, dude deserves it especially with a movie coming in December. Mera is also set to play an important role with Garth also returning to the Titans for a while.

The Justice League books has been really good since the relaunch and this is their first major crossover. I have high hopes for it especially considering the creative team involved.

Whatever, now that most of the tieins and preludes are over, let’s wait and read the main event
