We’re back to a more manageable-sized week this week. There’s some good stuff on the way.
I’m looking forward to new issues of Black Hammer, Days of Hate (getting close to the end!), East of West, the conclusion of The New World, the end of Astonishing X-Men, Punisher, Star Wars, and Black Badges.
I found the first issue of Uncanny X-Men kind of boring, so I hope this week’s issue picks up. I’ve preordered the whole thing (I hate weeklies for this reason), so I really hope it gets better…

Mike Maillaro
Picking up quite a few books this week, but not a lot of things to talk about. Just a lot of solid series doing solid things…
- Archie #700 – Nick Spencer takes over. While they are going bac to the old numbering, they are keeping the “new” feel of the Archie books. just with Nick Spencer on the helm. Spencer writes some real funny comics, so I think he is a good fit here.
- Injustice 2 Annual #2 – Even though I though the ending of the Injustice 2 comics felt a little rushed and flat, I really have enjoyed Tom Taylor’s work on these comics the last few years. Seems like this is the end of them, so I will definitely check it out. I kind of hope they make an Injustice 3 game just so we can get more comics set in this world (Injustice/Masters of the Universe isn’t bad, it just feels very different).
- Middlewest #1 – IMage puts out a lot of books each month that I am interested in, but there is just no way to budget for everything I would want to read in a perfect world. But when I see Skottie Young writing something, I will always be a customer. His work, especially on I Hatr Fairyland and Bully Wars, has a huge appeal to me, so Middlewest is a must buy
