  • The Warning #1 – I don’t know much about this new Image series, but it looks good.
  • I’m also looking forward this week to Heroes in Crisis, Die! Die! Die!, Stray Bullets, Black Panther, Daredevil (again?), Darth Vader, Marvel 2-In-One, Uncanny X-Men, and the finale, finally, of Come Into Me.
  • I still can’t make up my mind on Man-Eaters; I like it, but its flaws really bother me.

  • Ironheart #1 – To a certain group, Riri Williams represents everything wrong with diversity in comics. Personally, I like the character in her own book and in Champions. Eve Ewing is new to mainstream superhero comics, but I am excited to see what she can bring to Riri. To me, the best way to get diversity is diverse creators, and Eve Ewing brings a fresh voice that I can’t wait to hear!
  • Marvel Action Spider-Man #1 – IDW has partnered with Marvel to release some new all-ages books starring some of Marvel’s big name characters like Spider-Man, the Avengers, and Black Panther. Not quite sure why Marvel would need IDW to distribute these, but I do look forward to sharing them with my eight year old son. Sonic The Hedgehod #11 also comes out this week from IDW and that is his favorite comic.
  • Heroes in Crisis #3 – I know a lot of people hated seeing Harley get a win over Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, but I actually love those “Any Given Sunday” moments where any character in the right circumstances can pull off a win. That is what comics are all about to me. I like Tom King’s work a lot, and Heroes in Crisis really shows off his talents.
  • DC Nuclear Winter Special #1 – As I say all the time, I love anthology books. I don’t love the $10 price tag on this one, but it should still be a fun collection of dark holiday stories.
  • Detective Comics #993 – Tec had been on such a great run of books during The Outsiders era. Sadly they announced that Batman and the Outsiders has been cancelled before the first issue even came out. The current Two-Face/Kobra arc has been real dull. Hoping it picks up because I don’t want to have to struggle to get to 1000.
