JZ Says: WWE Main Event: January 2, 2019 (Zack Ryder, Tyler Breeze)

TV Shows

Little Caesars Arena – Detroit, MI – Wednesday, January 2, 2019

Vic Joseph, Percy Watson, and Nigel McGuinness are on commentary.

~MATCH #1~
Titus O’Neil defeats Curt Hawkins. O’Neil uses his size and strength to dominate the early going. Poor Hawkins is 0-248 on his losing streak. Hawkins gets in the bare minimum of offense, as this is mainly a squash. O’Neil finishes things with Clash of the Titus. This was fine for the participants involved and the show they’re wrestling on.
Rating: *½

~MATCH #2~
The Revival (Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson) defeat Zack Ryder & Tyler Breeze. Ryder and Breeze may have teamed in the past, I’m not sure. The Revival of course re one of the best teams in the world. All four men seem motivated to put on a good match, which is why I continue to watch Main Event. Dash and Dawson bend the rules a little bit to gain the advantage, and they have Ryder isolated in their half of the ring as we take a commercial break. When we come back the Revival is still in control. Breeze survives the onslaught and makes the hot tag to everyone’s favorite Broski. Ryder and Breeze work together to try and pick up the win, but the Revival is too skilled a duo for this makeshift team. The Revival catch Breeze with the Shatter Machine to pick up the win. Good tag team action here, and Ryder and Breeze make a fun team.
Rating: ***

Fun main event this week and an inoffensive squash, so it’s a pretty typical episode of Main Event. They also hit highlights from Raw and SmackDown, which makes this show useful if you don’t sit through the main brand offerings.

I grew up and now I write for Inside Pulse. Oh, and one time I saw a blimp!
