We’re back into regular-sized weeks, it seems.

  • Aliens: Dust to Dust #4 – This Gabriel Hardman Aliens series has been great, only so slow to come out that it killed all momentum. I’m glad to see that it’s finally finishing.
  • Criminal #1 – I’m more than ready for Criminal, one of the best comics of the last two decades. Ed Brubaker and Sean Philips are returning to tell more of Teeg’s story, which should be great.

I’m also looking forward to new issues of Deathstroke, Cemetery Beach, Die, Oblivion Song, Outer Darkness (this might be my favourite new series of the last six months), Iceman, Miles Morales, Punisher, Star Wars, and Uncanny X-Men.

I’m not sure if the third issue of Lodger is coming out this week or not. It’s David Lapham at his best, so I hope it’s coming soon.

  • Young Justice #1 – After the sad showing of the Young Justice line from New 52, I am hoping that this new effort will be much better. Bendis seems to have a lot of energy behind this line, and it starts with the return of my favorite trio Impulse, Superboy, and Robin (along with Wonder Girl and some new allies). This is certainly the comic I am most excited for this week!
  • Miles Morales Spider-Man #2 – I know there is a certain segment who hates the “replacement heroes” as they call them, but Miles Morales has quickly become my son’s favorite superhero. For a kid who doesn’t love reading to get excited to sit with me to read Miles Morales Spider-man (and IDW’s Spider-Man series which co-stars Miles), that makes me absolutely love this series.
  • Die #2 – First issue of Die was great! Characters were well-developed and the tone just felt really haunting. Definitely worth checking out!
  • Captain Marvel #1 – How many times has Marvel relaunched Carol Danvers in the last few years? I didn’t mind the changes to her origin story from Life of Captain Marvel, but I do think Marvel needs to find something that works with Carol and stop reinventing the wheel every few months.
  • Batman #62 – The return of Flashpoint’s Thomas Wayne? That is certainly what they teased us with last time. Tom King knows how to build a hell of a cliffhanger that makes you have to buy the next issue.
  • Moth And Whisper #5
  • Archie Meets Batman ’66 #6
  • Saban’s Go Go Power Rangers #16
