JZ Says: WWE Main Event #327 (Mojo Rawley, No Way Jose)

Reviews

Chesapeake Energy Arena – Oklahoma City, OK – Wednesday, January 23, 2019

Byron Saxton, Percy Watson, and Renee Young are on commentary.

~MATCH #1~
Rezar (w/ Drake Maverick) defeats Tyler Breeze. Apparently, Akam is out with an injury, which I was unaware of. Rezar uses his immense size and power to control the more experienced, yet smaller, Breeze. After several minutes of abuse, Rezar misses a Vader Bomb, and Breeze has his first opening of the match. Breeze gets a token amount of offense in, but Rezar cuts him off and finishes him with a very reckless and dangerous looking Chokeslam. Rezar is used to tag team competition, so I won’t hold this match too much against him, but it wasn’t pretty (like Prince Pretty is).
Rating: *½

~MATCH #2~
Mojo Rawley defeats No Way Jose. Saxton refers to the “intense rivalry” these two had on RAW, but I have no memory of that. That’s probably because I watch the Hulu version, but still. Jose takes the early control, working a fast pace to keep Rawley off-balance. They take a commercial and we come back to Jose still in control. Rawley cuts him off and grounds his effervescent opponent. Jose makes the comeback, but Rawley nips it in the bud with a sit-out Alabama Slam to get the pin. Just a match.
Rating: **¼

Not much to see here, but the recaps are helpful. I can see why Mojo isn’t on RAW much, though it’d be fun to see Jose once in a while. We’ll see if Rezar as a solo goes anywhere or if it was just a one-off.

I grew up and now I write for Inside Pulse. Oh, and one time I saw a blimp!
